So you already passed the CFA Level I Exam and planning for Level 2???
Level 2 CFA Exam Structure and Timing
What is the difference between level 1 and level 2
20 item set questions: 180 minutes ( 3 hours)
Morning session: 10 vignettes with 6 items each
Afternoon session: 10 vignettes with 6 items each
So all the exam day, you will have a total of 120 items (20 vignettes with 6 items each) compared to 240 multiple choice items on the Level I exam. The Level II exam is worth 360 points, corresponding to the number of minutes on the exam.
You will have 3 minutes for each items. But actually, you don’t really have 3 minutes per question, as you need to take into account timing to read the vignette, and they are on average 1-2.5 pages long. So allot yourself a maximum of 18 minutes per item set, and when time’s up, shoot and go.
On the Level II exams, some topics are covered in the morning session only and other topics are covered in the afternoon session only.
While studying for each concept, take your notes throught the way, do the flash card to memorize the formulas, concepts…. Do this especially for topics that you find difficulty understanding. It aids memory and you’d be thankful for concise revision notes nearer to the exams.
The last month should be devoted to revision. During this time, try to do as many mock exams as possible.
And remember: smile and exercise a lot! You can not get through all 3 levels if you are not healthy.
You need a healthy body, healthy brain with a good mood to get through all those tough levels!
